Tips on how to pass PC Operation NC-II (PC Operation National Certification Level-II). The PC Operation NC-II assessment is composed of areas of competencies, namely (1) Operate a Word Processing Application, (2) Operate a Spreadsheet Application, (3) Operate a Presentation Package and (4) Operate Email and Search the Web Using Browser.  The assessment is composed of two parts, the Demonstration (2 hours) and the one-on-one interview with the assessor. 

Here are tips on how to pass PC Operation NCII assessment:

 

MS WORD Processing Application

Creating Documents

  1. Creating a blank document
  2. Opening an existing document
  3. Saving a document in specified folder or directory

Formatting Documents

  1. Apply specified formatting to character/paragraph such as changing of font, font size, color, appearance etc.
  2. Learn to use the Styles and Formatting command which includes creating new styles and editing existing style.
  3. Used of numbered and bulleted lists
  4. Use of border, textboxes and shading
  5. Perform spelling and grammar check

Changing Page Appearance and Layout

  1. Margins, page size and orientation
  2. Inserting page numbers, section breaks and page breaks
  3. Inserting footnotes, cross-references and bookmarks.
  4. Create a table of content.
  5. Saving of documents in another file format. (E.g. As Web Page, XML Document Rich Text File etc.)

Creating and Formatting Tables

  1. Inserting table into document
  2. Adding or deleting of rows and columns
  3. Formatting table cells

Inserting Object

  1. Inserting image (clipart/picture)
  2. Inserting Word art and other objects
  3. Resizing, positioning, and cropping of image

 

OPERATE A SPREADSHEET APPLICATION 

Creating Spreadsheet

  1. Creating a new worksheet
  2. Entering data
  3. Creating formula
  4. Cells, columns and row formatting
  5. Saving of workbook in a specified folder or directory

Format Worksheet

  1. Basic text/paragraph formatting (font style, size, color, appearance)
  2. Apply borders, shading, and backgrounds.
  3. Using of decimal places, comma and currency symbol

Inserting objects

  1. Creating chart according to the specified data.
  2. Formatting of chart based on the data in the worksheet
  3. Inserting of images (clipart/picture)

Familiarize commonly used formula

  1. suggested formula to familiarize: min, max, average, count, if

Print Worksheet

  1. Setting the print area
  2. Inserting of header and footer
  3. Printing of worksheet according to specification 

 

OPERATE A PRESENTATION PACKAGE

Creating Presentation

  1. Inserting new slide
  2. Saving presentation in specified folder or directory
  3. Opening an existing presentation

Formatting a Presentation

  1. Apply specified formatting to the text which includes changing of font style, size, color, appearance etc.
  2. Use of bulleted and numbered list
  3. Use of slide layout
  4. Use of Design Template
  5. Rearranging of slides according to specification
  6. Use of Master Slide

Inserting Objects

  1. Inserting, resizing, positioning and cropping of images (clipart/picture)
  2. Inserting and editing of chart and graph
  3. Inserting and editing of tables
  4. Inserting and editing of organizational chart

Animating the Presentation

  1. Adding slide transition effects
  2. Creating custom animation for objects (Entrance, Emphasis, Exit, Motion Path)

  1. Launch Internet Browser
  2. Setting the Home Page according to specification
  3. Modification of toolbars
  4. Access particular website using the URL

Search the Internet

  1. Searching a particular topic on the internet using a search engine
  2. Creating a bookmark

Send and Organize Message

  1. Opening an e-mail account
  2. Composing of e-mail message
  3. Attaching of files in an e-mail
  4. Sending e-mail
  5. Use of CC and BCC
  6. Downloading and saving of attached files

Create an address book

  1. Adding a new address in the address book
  2. Creating of distribution list
