As one of the passer in Computer Hardware Servicing NC-II in Capiz, for me it was very easy to pass the examination for NC-II. The exam has two assessment methods or parts: Observation/Demo (4 hours) and the last is Oral/Interview (at least I hour).

First Tip: You must familiar yourself about (DOS) disk operating system commands especially the different internal and external DOS commands.

Second Tips: You need also know how to install an operating system such as windows 98 and windows 2000.

Third Tips: Once you already familiar in installing win98/2000 then install those two OS using dual boot operating system.

Fourth Tips: You should know how to create a straight trough cable and crossover cable.

Fifth Tips: Connect the straight through cable from your PC to a server. After connecting you must have also familiar in putting up IP addresses. You must connect to the server and view the shared folder and its file.  Once you’ve done that print a document that comes from the server.

Sixth Tips: Connect to other computer using crossover, view each other shared folder and file.

I Passed the Computer Hardware Servicing in NC-II

July 2, 2009

After a long month preparations and waiting all of my efforts finally paid off. Last June 30, 2009 was the date of our Computer Hardware Servicing in NC-II (CHS NC-II) exam. I passed the NC-II exam given to us by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). At last I can call myself now a certified computer technician. I was not the only one who passed the NC-II exam actually we are eight graduate students all of them are my classmates in ACLC Roxas. Right now I don’t have the National Certificate – 2 (NC-2) because the TESDA representative told us that it will take 21 days before I get my certificate in NC-II. The exam has two parts or assessment method; first is the Observation/Demo were there are different tasks to perform for example PC disassembly and assembly, OS Installation, Office Installation, Driver Installation, Networking and configuration. The second part is Oral/Interview (like Question and Answer) portion wherein the assessor will conduct a one-on-one interview with the examiners. Both of the two methods were a little bit hard, though the Observation/Demo part was a little bit easy for me because I know how to perform the first part. The second part which is the Oral/Interview was given me a little hard time to answer because most of the questions are situational what I mean is if you don’t have enough experience when it comes to troubleshooting or networking whatsoever, you will have a difficult time to answer it. But luckily and with God’s help I manage to answer all the questions given to me by the assessor. After the Oral/Interview portion the assessor shakes my hand and said that I’ve passed and competent. And I will congratulate also my other classmates who also passed the Computer Hardware Servicing in NC-II. Congratulations guys!
